DeLorean Returns Back to the Future
Online, August 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Universal Studios' Authentic DeLorean Sports Car Featured in the Blockbuster Film, Back to the Future III, Recaptures Time & Motion for Charity at the Premiere Exhibition of Cars, Collectibles & Cinema at the Museum of Monterey, taking place on Sunday, August 14th through Sunday, August 21st, 2011.
Of the seven iconic DeLorean time machine cars used to create the three "Back to the Future" movies, only three original cars are known to still exist today. Presented by Profiles in History and Concours Television Ventures, one of those screen-used DeLoreans will be at Cars, Collectibles & Cinema at the Museum of Monterey from Sunday, August 14 through Sunday, August 21, 2011, for public viewing. Fans will have the opportunity to see the original vehicle, be photographed with the car, and meet several actors from the iconic film trilogy. A number of characters from the film series will be in attendance, including Jeffrey Weissman, who played Martin McFly, Michael J. Fox's father, in Back to the Future 2 & 3.
The DeLorean will be presented along with a collection of original film artifacts and props from all three Back to the Future movies, creating a rare Back To The Future 'Time Travel' experience of cinematic preservation. Along with the Time Machine, will be original costumes, the Tales From Space comic, Doc's burned toy Cadillac, Clock Tower cables, Gray's Almanac and a full set of all five types of hoverboards, and other seldom-seen pieces of cinematic history.
The Time Machine has been in private hands for the past 8 years, and was recently featured on the Syfy Channel's Hollywood Treasure television show hosted by Joe Maddalena. Joe and his staff will be at in person to greet fans, and share these rare pieces of movie history.
In cooperation with FIVA, the international organization of authentic automobiles, the Historic Vehicle Association & Concours Television Ventures, presents Cars, Collectibles & Cinema, an Automobile Vehicle, Vintage Memorabilia & Hollywood Film Exhibition devoted to Historic Preservation.
This dynamic exhibit will also feature rare FIVA-certified, Smithsonian-quality, unrestored, award-winning, classic cars on display from prior Concours d'Elegance Preservation Classes.
In the Museum of Monterey HD Theatre, live celebrities, authors, judges, and automotive historians will be speaking as part of an expert lecture series. Recently discovered films about road-racing legends such as Phil Hill will also be presented.
Gregory Berkin, Director of The Pebble Beach Experience, will debut a sneak preview of his authentic documentary chronicling one hundred-plus years of motoring on the Monterey Peninsula, and the Pebble Beach Road Races, and the iconic Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Also on display will be innovative 'Smart and Social' TV technologies showcasing the next generation of interactive television and advertising, via exclusive hands-on demonstrations of interactive HD-TV applications from Concours Television Ventures, a Silicon Valley Venture group.
