(Phoenix, AZ) May 20, 2010-On Saturday, May 22 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm PST, music industry and hip-hop vet, King Trick and PhD Mixxxmastarz will host "Da True Skool Hip-Hop Show" and he will dedicate the debut show to a segment entitled, "The Hip-Hop Culture Speaks". The force behind the decision of this format is the effect of this bill and understanding it's not an Arizona issue, it is a universal issue. The discussion, "The Hip-Hop Culture Speaks" will be held at Hot Chocolate Radio and Television office located at 6750 W. Olive Ave., Suite 106, Glendale, AZ and will be broadcast live via Ustream at www.hotchocolate.net.
This will be an open discussion on the various perspectives and impact that this particular bill may have on the hip-hop community and beyond, and what things can be done to bring about a balance in any opposing views. Rap artists have a tendency to present a perspective that seems to hit a little closer to home, when dealing with more cultural issues, such as immigration.
Scholar, Dr. Camilla A.H. Westenberg, and Arizona-based and nationally recognized hip-hop artists, Willy Northpole, Woodpile, Wes Craven, Empty Clips, and special guests will intelligently discuss the controversial SB 1070, with hopes of amicable end results. The varying views of these select panelists will have a forum to speak to one another on a very sensitive issue that has made national news.
