Another great attribute of raw recruits is that they’re not married to the way things have always been done. “When they’ve just started, it’s easier to get them on board with the way things are done. The way new people embrace policies and procedures makes it easier for our veterans to switch gears as well,” Cassie explained.

This is important because there are going to be some adjustments to the way things are done at D3 Solutions in 2016, which will make the firm’s associates even more productive. “Obviously we’re doing well in this area, but productivity is one of those things at which we can always improve,” stated Cassie.

To encourage her people to generate even more value for D3 Solutions and the brands they represent, Cassie has a few ideas in mind. First, time wasters like social media and smartphones are going to be labelled for what they are: energy drains. “Communication is a huge part of what we do, but it’s time to separate our need for technology from our desire to indulge in unnecessary activities. Phones and Facebook are the two prime culprits.”

Also, multitasking will be strongly discouraged. Cassie explained that while it was once a desired skill, it is now viewed as an incredibly inefficient way to get things done. In fact, she pointed out that some studies even find that multitasking lowers the IQs of people who do it habitually. Cassie concluded the interview by saying, “It takes a couple of months for new behaviors to become automatic, so I don’t expect to see immediate changes in habits, but I’m confident that by Q2 everyone on the D3 Solutions team will be even more productive than they are today!”
