Cynosure Health Adds Three National Healthcare Experts to Board of Directors

Non-Profit Organization Embraces Expertise to Benefit Patients, Families

​Cynosure Health, a non-profit organization that provides consulting and training services for healthcare quality and patient-safety programs, has added three national healthcare experts to its Board of Directors.

“Cynosure Healthcare is a growing organization with a mission to improve healthcare,” says Sue Murphy, MHA, Board Chair, Cynosure Health. “We’re committed to working with senior thought leaders while retaining our commitment to change at the frontlines. Our new board members will help us make a greater impact on healthcare.”

The new board members include:

  • Jason Byrd, JD, Assistant Vice President, Regional Group, Carolinas HealthCare Systems. This public, not-for-profit, integrated health care system is comprised of 41 hospitals and more than 900 care locations serving the residents of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Byrd has worked in quality policy, practice management and lobbying roles for various national associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), American College of Cardiology (ACC) and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).  
     
  •  Linda Burnes Bolton, DrPH, RN, FAAN (Fellowship, American Academy of Nursing), Vice President of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing Research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She is one of the principal investigators at the Cedars-Sinai Burns & Allen Research Institute. Dr. Burnes Bolton is a past president of the American Academy of Nursing, National Black Nurses Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She was appointed to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015.
     
  •  Cheryl Damberg, PhD, Principal Senior Researcher at RAND and RAND Distinguished Chair in Healthcare Payment Policy. She’s a national expert in the areas of pay for performance (P4P) and value-based purchasing applications of performance measures, measures of cost efficiency and resource use, and evaluating alternative payment models. Dr. Damberg’s research also focuses on understanding changes that providers and health systems are making to improve quality and costs.
