Cut-a-thon for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Online, August 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - In an effort to generate research funds for cystic fibrosis, TONI&GUY Atlanta is teaming up the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and Working Media Group Atlanta (WMGA) Aug. 14 for Wish for Wendy Cut-a-Thon, a special fundraising event in Atlanta.
"One in 31 Americans are an unknowing, symptomless carrier of cystic fibrosis," WMGA CEO Lisa Holton said. "I didn't know much about cystic fibrosis before I became a volunteer with Wish for Wendy four years ago, but it is now a cause near and dear to my heart. It affects so many people."
For just $40, participants will receive a chic haircut from TONI&GUY stylists at the following TONI&GUY mall locations: North Point, Gwinnett, Town Center and Perimeter from 6 to 9 p.m. The owners of the TONI&GUY locations, Robert Barker and Brian Walters, say all proceeds will benefit CFF.
Wish for Wendy is looking to raise more than $150,000 in 2011. "We are doing everything we can to reach that goal," Holton said. "From selling raffle tickets, having bake sales and hosting local bands, events like Wish for Wendy Cut-a-Thon are helping us reach our goal faster."
