Curve Nation Brings Plus Size Powerhouses to Orlando Area
Online, June 2, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The average American woman is now a size 14. Plus size is no longer a term used to describe clothing typically not available in standard boutiques or in smaller separate sections in major retailers. It is a movement that celebrates loving the skin you're in and how to be healthy at any size. Curve Nation is an organization that hosts a variety of events specifically targeted towards plus-size and curvy women and big handsome men. With a growing community, Curve Nation is presenting their first annual Plus Size Expo hosted by Rosie Mercado.
This event is sponsored by POSE Magazine and M3K Beauty, which has been featured at the Academy Awards, In-Style Magazine, and on The Ellen Show. The Curve National Plus Size Community Expo occurs July 11, 2014 through July 13, 2014 at the International Palms Resort and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida.
The conference features Rosie Mercado, international plus-size model and star of Curvy Girls on NUVOtv, speaking on female empowerment and creating opportunities, Lifetime's Double Divas, Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker of LiviRae Lingerie, speaking on breast health and properly fitting undergarments and offering an exclusive bra fit event, and Kelly Glover, media personality and blogger of BigCurvyLove.com and creator of the project 50 Fat Dates, who will be speaking on sex and dating in the plus size community. Other activities include shopping, a pool party, a fashion show, massages, health assessments, Curve Nation's Curves in Paradise Party, and a meet and greet with Rosie Mercado.
CEO and Founder of Full Figured Fashion Week, Gwen DeVoe, will also be launching the next phase of her career at the event. This is the last year DeVoe will be presenting Full Figured Fashion Week in New York. At the Expo, she will be speaking on personal branding and discussing what she has learned touring the country scouting models for Full Figured Fashion Week and throughout her own career as a model and how to apply those lessons to everyday life. DeVoe will also be filming the first episode of her new talk show, Mogul Moments.
Curve Nation has partnered with Dress for Success of Greater Orlando, who has a major need for work appropriate suits and separates for women sizes 14 and over. A silent auction will be held and donations are being accepted. All proceeds go to the charity.
Registration for the Expo includes a hot breakfast buffet, lunch, admission to all Expo events, a welcome reception, general admission to the Curves in Paradise Party, a send-off barbecue, and swag bag with samples and other items provided by sponsors and vendors.
Attendance at the Curve Nation Plus Size Community Expo is a great way for individuals and businesses to make connections and learn about the plus-size community.
