Curtis Packaging Supplies Face Shields to Federal Government

CT Manufacturer Partners with Government Contractor Argent to Aid in Fight Against COVID-19

Curtis Packaging Corporation, founded in 1845, is a luxury packaging company who recently pivoted production lines to manufacture Face Shields. Curtis has teamed up with Argent World Services, a government contractor that specializes in defense and medical supplies, to get their face shields into the hands of federal employees that need PPE.

“We are extremely proud and honored to be able to help our federal government in this time of need. We have enjoyed working with Argent executives to get production on specialized government shields rolling and are confident that we will be a long-standing partner to the United States government.”

“It has been amazing to see my team come together through these tough times and effectively add another product line to our business. We at Curtis are all very happy to be able to do our part in helping our country while it’s in need,” said Don Droppo Jr., President, Owner, and CEO of Curtis Packaging.

Product Details

Curtis Packaging has been very diligent in reference to testing their new face shields. The original face shield design is patent-pending, one-piece, lightweight, easy to assemble, made of .015 PET (plastic), have an anti-fog coating, and carry an ANSI-Z87 Certification. The face shields are also disposable. For government shields, Curtis Packaging has altered their original design slightly, and has started sourcing specialized material, which features an anti-scratch laminate masking, making the shields perfect to be shipped all over the world. The new shield design also carries all of the certifications that the original design carries.

Production Details

With a reliable material supply, Curtis packaging is currently able to manufacture up to 150,000 face shields per day and plans to ramp up their operation as government demand for their shields continues to grow in the coming months.

Working with Argent

Argent has historically been a government defense contractor, but with the addition of their medical supplies branch in 2019, their role with the federal government has drastically increased during the COVID-19 outbreak. Argent Executives Laura Miller and Scott Geroux have been spearheading the effort to source medical supplies and have been at the forefront of communication with Curtis Packaging. “Argent World Services is excited to partner with Curtis Packaging to support our USA manufacturing of face shields. Our combined experience in manufacturing and providing product to the United States government will be crucial to getting product to those who need it the most. This project has allowed Argent the opportunity to create jobs while supporting our front line warriors in the fight against COVID-19,” said Laura Miller, President, Owner, and CEO of Argent World Services.
