CROS NT And ARITHMOS Launch International EDC Survey

In a joint effort to study the use of Electronic Data Capture in clinical studies, the CROS NT Group has created a global study to analyze EDC trends.

This week, the CROS NT Group made public an international survey to analyze the use of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) in clinical studies. The study is being led by ARITHMOS, the IT branch of CROS NT Group which offers technology solutions across all phases of clinical trials to optimize quality and value. The collection and analysis of data is being supported by CROS NT.

The survey aims to cover basic EDC trends like use by country, which EDC product is most used and years of experience using EDC corresponding to job roles. Almost all job roles - from Investigators to Business Development- and industries are represented in the survey. The survey also covers EDC training, technological competencies and HelpDesk availability.

For ARITHMOS, the goal of this survey is to better understand EDC trends in clinical trials and how to improve EDC solutions to its clients. ARITHMOS, in conjunction with CROS NT Data Management and Statistical services, currently offers several EDC features, including:
• Data Security and Disaster Recovery Plans
• Integration with Oracle RDC at low cost and easy-to-use interface
• HelpDesk integration 24/7/365 to manage any technical implications

The survey is being led by ARITHMOS' Head of Unit for Health Sciences Services, Silvia Gabanti. Along with sharing the survey results on its website, ARITHMOS hopes to present these results as the Oracle Health Science Users Group conference in Toronto, Canada in October 2011.
