This extra-ordinary Section Conference was called by the CPDM USA Section President, Joseph Mbu who then authorized the Project Committee to organize it. Given the short notice and the emmergent nature of the Conference, Lady Kate Njeuma the Chair of the Project Committee was able to mobilize members of the committee to get to work, to make the event successful. The Conference which took barely three days to plan was successful in achieving what it set out to accomplish.
1. The CPDM USA Motion of Support for His Excellency President Biya was delivered by Dr. Charles Di Mintyene, a veteran militant of the Party. This Statement of support came after a very powerful speech by President Joseph Mbu who again emphasized the achievements of the Party. He called on the militants to believe in the Party and the Chairman His Excellency President Paul Biya, our natural candidate for President because he will always deliver.
2. President Mbu also delivered a stong statement of gratitude and encouragement to the Head of State for the recent move which advances the position of Cameroonian citizens abroad with the signing of the Bill giving them the right to vote in the up coming elections. This Bill was passed by the Parliament and signed shortly after by the Head of State.
The news has been very well received by the Cameroon diaspora and the citizens are waiting excitedly for more instructions on how they can register to vote. CPDM USA will play an active role in registering voters as soon as that information is available.
After the Motion of Support was delivered, the party leadership present gave their support to the Section President and the Chairman of the Party. WCPDM Section President was represented by the Secretary Ms Adelle Effa who spoke brilliantly about the position of women in the party and embraced the right to vote as a major milestone.
