COVID-19 Unit Open at The Pearl at Kruse Way
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore., December 10, 2020 (Newswire.com) - The Pearl at Kruse Way, a skilled nursing and memory care community part of the Avamere Family of Companies, is opening a dedicated COVID-19 unit in collaboration with the state of Oregon on Dec. 10, 2020 for patients with positive or presumed positive cases of COVID-19.
The 45-bed unit provides an exclusive location for individuals to receive skilled nursing care and transition from hospital to home while recovering from the virus. The COVID-19 recovery unit will follow recommended quarantine guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
With all beds in the skilled nursing wing of the building being reserved for seniors with COVID-19, the patients residing in the building transitioned to neighboring Avamere locations, assisted living communities, or home.

The COVID-19 unit is led by experienced COVID-19 unit leader and Administrator Troy Perry. Perry transitioned to The Pearl at Kruse Way temporarily from Laurelhurst Village, another skilled nursing community part of the Avamere Family of Companies, where he opened and led a COVID-19 unit from April to July 2020.
The Avamere Family of Companies follows safety measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including enhanced cleaning protocols, hand sanitizing stations, mask requirements, and daily wellness checks. Employees will undergo screening testing for COVID-19 at Avamere's other skilled communities.
