Alacare Home Health & Hospice has named Corrie Hall, CPA, its new Chief Financial Officer. Hall assumes the responsibility as Gene Sykes retires after more than 20 years with Alacare. "Corrie will be a valuable part of the executive team," says Alacare's Chief Executive Officer Susan Brouillette, MBA/MPH.

In his new capacity, Hall will be responsible for overseeing all company finance and accounting practices, including Finance/Accounting, Billing and Collections and Purchasing departments. He will direct budget preparations, financial reports, tax and audit functions; spearhead financial strategy, planning and forecasts in conference with the company's chief officers and department directors, and he will study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.

Before Hall came to Alacare in November 2014, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Kare-In-Home Health in Gulfport, Mississippi, for 10 years and worked at Hattiesburg's South Mississippi Home Health for 27 years, ultimately becoming a Vice President in Finance. Hall received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in Professional Accountancy from the University of Southern Mississippi and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Association of Home Care. He says, "I love being part of helping the elderly and infirm meet their health care needs."

Sykes joined Alacare in 1993, initially as an Administrative Director, and he served as the company's Chief Administrative Officer until his appointment to Chief Financial Officer in 2002. Sykes will continue working with Alacare as a consultant as the company develops corporate growth strategies. "Gene has also been an instrumental part of Alacare's growth over the years, bringing a vast amount of knowledge, oversight and trend forecasting to the agency," says Brouillette. "We are all thrilled for Gene and are also appreciative for not only his past contribution to the agency, but also for his continued support."
