Fran brings nearly four decades of leadership in all functional areas of health insurance across all business segments. Before joining Innovaccer’s board of advisors, Fran led Aetna’s Government Services Business portfolio, the growth engine of the company.

In 2004, Fran was a recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Healthcare/Services category. Fran currently serves on several prestigious boards, including Towson University Board of Visitors where he has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman, and the University System of Maryland Foundation Board. Furthermore, Fran represented Aetna on the Healthcare Leadership Council Board of Directors and the Health Care Transformation Task Force, which he chaired prior to his retirement.

Fran commented, “Payers and providers can achieve value-based care if they identify and work on overlapping areas of interest to boost patient satisfaction. I am excited about Innovaccer’s mission and its progress towards a unified patient record and elimination of disconnected data silos. This is a critical objective to improve outcomes and quality, reduce cost and eliminate waste.”

“We are on the journey to empower healthcare stakeholders with vital information required to excel at patient care. I strongly believe that having Fran on our board of advisors, with his deep experience in operations and growth of competitive insurance markets, will strengthen our ability to reduce operational inefficiencies for our customers,” said Abhinav Shashank, CEO at Innovaccer.
