Cops Direct Urges Public to Support and Empower Police Officers and All First Responders in the Line of Duty to Save Lives
SAN RAMON, Calif., April 17, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Every day, police officers, firefighters and EMS put their lives on the line to protect communities and our country. However, they don't always have the necessary gear to stay safe and save lives. The Dangers Faced by Police Officers and All First Responders
Police officers are dedicated to serving and safeguarding communities in the United States. However, their noble efforts come with significant dangers.
Recent statistics paint a bleak picture of the dangers they face.
According to the National Fraternal Order of Police, as of March 2023, 65 officers have been shot in the line of duty so far. This represents a 33% increase from the same period in 2021 and a staggering 63% increase from 2020.
Tragically, a significant percentage of these officers have lost their lives due to gunfire. While this number represents a 27% decrease from the same period in 2021, it's still a stark reminder of the risks these brave men and women take every day.
Ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers are also on the rise. So far this year, there have been 18 such attacks, resulting in 21 officers being shot. Three of these officers lost their lives due to gunfire.
These alarming statistics should serve as a wake-up call to all of us. Police officers and all First Responders need support now more than ever.
