'Mother' is the Primary Teacher of Human Being

One of the residents of Kolkata and a Lawyer by profession Mr. Vishwanath used to go to the court by a horse cart. Riding on a horse cart, during those days, was considered as the chief and a prominent mode of transport. The charioteer driving the horse cart appeared royal with his clothing and a whip in his hands and used to be a topic of curiosity for the children. One day, Mr. Vishwanath asked his son Narendra Nath, "What would you like to become in life?" As, Narendra Nath, like other children, was impressed with the commanding style of the charioteer, replied, "I would like to become a charioteer." Mr. Vishwanath didn't pay much attention to it and kept mom.

On the contrary, the mother of Narendra Nath took it seriously. She was impressed by the views of his son. She wanted to create the high ideals of Indian Culture within the mind of his child.  She took Narendra Nath to the public room (deewankhana) of the house, made him stand before the picture of 'Lord Krishna' and said, "Become a charioteer like 'Lord Krishna'." The said picture tying on the wall was depicting the scene of 'Mahabharata' where the chariot of 'Arjuna' stood between the forces of the 'Kauravas' and the 'Pandavas' and the charioteer Krishna was conveying the spiritual instructions of Geeta (religious book of the Hindus) to 'Arjuna'.

Later, the same child (Narendra Nath) become the 'Charioteer of Indian Culture' and came to be known as 'Swami Vivekananda'. This is the reason, for which, 'mother' is considered as the primary teacher of human being.
