Seniors who are considering moving to a high-end retirement community now have access to an online financial tool designed to help them better understand the potential financial impact of this important life decision. North Carolina- based company, My LifeSite, has recently released a retail version of their popular DecsionGenie tool, which is currently utilized by retirement communities and financial planners.

“There are many people out there who feel that a retirement community, such as a continuing care or lifecare retirement community, could be a good fit for themselves or their loved ones, but they are not entirely comfortable with the potential financial implications, particularly if an entry-fee is involved or if they are comparing multiple choices. They want to be able to “run the numbers,” so to speak, and DecisionGenie allows them to do that on their own time and in a very effective manner.”

DecisionGenie is also effective in helping people understand the possible impact of long-term care. "The user can enter all of their own assumptions,” says Breeding. “For instance, they might want to see one projection that assumes zero years of long-term care, another that includes three years of care, and yet another that includes five years or more of care. With this approach the user can easily see a range of hypothetical scenarios and be in position to make a better-informed decision about what is best for their future.”

DecisionGenie is currently available online for an initial rate of $39.95 for 30-days of access and can be extended for $19.95 per month for each additional month of access. DecisionGenie does not require account numbers or other personal information. Short tutorial videos are available on each input screen.
