Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield Welcomes Dr. Chris Kelly

New Veterinarian Joins Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield Veterinary Practice

Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield is pleased to welcome Dr. Chris Kelly to the practice. Originally from a small town in upstate New York, he earned an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Science and licensure as a Veterinary Technician. In 1998 he moved to North Carolina and worked as a Veterinary Technician in a mixed small animal and equine practice for 10 years.  During that time he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at North Carolina State University and in 2009 received a doctorate degree from NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Since then Dr. Kelly has been practicing in the Cary and North Raleigh areas. He has special interests in internal medicine, especially feline diabetes, as well as canine and feline dentistry.

“We are very pleased to have someone of Dr. Kelly’s experience and skill join our practice,” said Dr. Mike Metz, founder and co-owner of Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield. “His style naturally compliments the personal service and treatment we provide to our patients.”

Dr. Kelly and his wife, also a veterinarian, have three cats and two dogs. They are both avid mountain bikers and spend most of their free time on the trails.  He is excited to join the exceptional team of doctors and support staff at Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield.
