Community Projects In Rochester New York By Andre Leite Alves Business Owner, Professional Photographer and Entrepreneur.
Online, April 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Andre Leite Alves is a Rochester NY business owner, entrepreneur and professional photographer, educated at RIT Rochester Institute of Technology. He has worked for the top Rochester New York companies: Kodak, Xerox, RIT, AA Computers USA and Aware Bear Computers in Pittsford NY.
Every year Andre Alves takes time off from his busy schedule and devotes his personal time and money in order to help the less fortunate around the world. Andre does workshops in digital photography and teaches kids how to use digital cameras and computers in order to create art. In 2007 Andre Leite Alves decided to create a computer recycling program in Rochester NY that is free of charge for residents of Monroe, Wayne and Ontario Counties. Aware Bear Computers on 5 Monroe Avenue accepts: old computers (DELL, HP, Toshiba, Sony, Compaq, Gateway, Acer, IBM, Lenovo, E-Machines), old LCD screens (HP, DELL, Sony, Compaq, Gateway, Acer, E-Machines, Samsung, Sharp), old printers (USB, network, parallels), routers (Linksys, Netgear, Cisco), network switches, servers (Windows and Apple). At the moment we are not accepting CRT monitors or tube TVs.
Aware Bear will properly dispose of all electronic waste making sure it will get recycled and stay out of the landfill. The biggest problem of dumping old computers and electronics at a landfill is that they carry a lot of toxic materials. These toxic materials (lead and mercury) will contaminate the soil and then the underground water stream.
Later the resources made from the computer recycling are used for funding social programs in the Rochester NY community. Please visit the Rochester NY computer recycling center: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreleitealves/sets/72157626247728301/
Andre Leite Alves also offers professional wedding photography in Rochester NY, being trained at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) school of arts and science from 97-01 the number 1 photography school in the country; it gave Andre Alves a very solid background when it comes to professional photography. "Because I specialize in wedding photography I am able to concentrate in one photographic style and be the best at it." says Andre Leite Alves. For 2011-2012 Andre Leite Alves will be starting an organic vegetable garden that will provide fresh quality vegetables for the Rochester NY inner city kids. This project was tested overseas outside the United States in 2010 and it was a huge success. The quality and freshness of the food produced by these organic micro farms were better than any produce sold in supermarkets, markets or vegetable markets. "The investment is very small; there is a lot of hard labor in order to get the soil ready and weed free. The garden needs lots of water and exposure to the sun in order for the plants to grow and produce vegetables. Downtown Rochester has plenty of vacant land from homes that were taken down, this land is just seating there being vacant and needs to be put for good use." says local business owner Andre Leite Alves from Pittsford NY.
