Community Food Bank of San Benito County Announces Holiday Food and Fund Drive
Online, November 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Local food bank seeks to raise money virtually to help needy families during long winter months
The Community Food Bank of San Benito County would like to announce the start of their 2011 Holiday Food and Fund Drive. With this drive, the Food Bank seeks to address specific winter needs of their member families and agencies.
"The Holidays really do represent a unique time of year," a Food Bank spokesperson commented. "In general, people seem happier and more free with their smiles. The desire to give to those in need seems to overflow!"
To make giving easier than ever, the Food Bank's website has a special donation page. The page empowers those wishing to make a contribution to choose exactly where their money is going. The excitement and opportunity can be found at http://communityfoodbankofsbc.org/give-help/virtual-store/.
"When you visit the site, you'll be presented with various options on what you wish to donate," the spokesperson explains. "For example, if you wish to donate a backpack to a child in need, you add the backpack to your shopping cart, proceed to checkout, and pay securely by credit card or PayPal."
Other donation options include a weekly food bag, emergency food bag, administrative costs, and more. And since the Holidays are right around the corner, donations can also go towards helping needy families get Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
As added incentive and recognition, those who donate before November 30th will receive a special t-shirt absolutely free.
