Coffman Engineers Announces New Honolulu Civil Engineering Department Manager and New Hires
Jami Hirota will manage the Civil Department
HONOLULU, February 8, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Coffman Engineers, Inc. (“Coffman”) is pleased to announce that Jami S. Hirota, PE, LSIT, LEED BD+C has been named the new Civil Engineering Department Manager.
Jami has more than 21 years of civil engineering experience in Hawaii and has managed the Department of Defense (DoD), commercial, state, and county projects from the initial proposal through completion.
She succeeds Ben Momblow, PE, SE who was the Honolulu Civil Engineering Department Manager for more than eight years. This shift in leadership will allow him to focus on his current role as the Honolulu Operations Manager while continuing to provide civil and structural engineering design services.
“We were thrilled to bring Jami on board in August with her depth of experience and enthusiasm for what she does. Having her manage the civil department has already proven to be the right thing for our clients and growing team,” said Momblow.
“It has been a dynamic and energizing few months, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of many amazing clients and the staff at Coffman, who have welcomed me with open arms. I look forward to developing the civil department and expanding our staff and capabilities,” said Hirota.
The civil engineering department has already grown with the addition of two engineers: Dan Hirota, PE, and Stephen Jo. Dan Hirota, PE, PLS has more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering and surveying specializing in subdivision design and mapping. He also has 3D imaging capabilities and is looking to share this application with the industry. Stephen Jo has more than seven years of civil engineering experience and spent the past six years in Korea specializing in DoD design services.
