Carolyn Mitchell, Ian Liao, and Leslie Williams join as partners, collectively bringing more than sixty years’ experience in healthcare law, corporate law, and intellectual property.
Carolyn L. Mitchell joins CKR Law’s Houston office expanding the firm’s healthcare practice. With more than 25 years’ healthcare management and legal experience, Ms. Mitchell is capable of advancing the needs of virtually all types of healthcare enterprises. Her work with large healthcare systems and healthcare service providers, including physicians and physician groups, healthcare individual entrepreneurs and healthcare companies, enables her to effectively find solutions and achieve optimal results for her clients. Prior to joining CKR, Ms. Mitchell was an attorney at multiple nationally-recognized law firms.
Ian Liao joins CKR Law’s Irvine office. Mr. Liao brings over 22 years of vast corporate law experience. His primary focus is on China-based M&A, venture capital, private equity, technology and other cross-border transactions. Mr. Liao has advised many venture capital funds and high-tech companies (including start-up and pre-IPO companies) in investment and fundraising transactions. He has also represented leading multinational companies in complex mergers, asset acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and equity purchase transactions involving various industry sectors, including manufacturing, television and media, special materials, medical devices and internet/e-commerce. Mr. Liao is also skilled in representing clients in cross-border technology licensing and intellectual property enforcement matters. Prior to joining CKR, Mr. Liao was a partner at two global law firms based in their Shanghai and Beijing offices. He also worked in Taiwan as an associate for eight years.
Leslie Williams joins CKR Law’s Irvine office as an international corporate, data privacy and intellectual property partner. Ms. Williams is a seasoned attorney with more than 25 years of experience providing legal counsel to mid-size technology companies seeking to expand their markets, reorganize their operations and launch new products or services. Ms. Williams advises domestic and international companies who are either going abroad or expanding into the United States market. Ms. Williams offers her expertise on key international issues affecting their transactions, including intellectual property protection, corporate and tax structuring, and limiting liability risks.
