Choreography And Artist Development Company Brings A Caribbean Vibe To Dance App On Itunes
Online, August 6, 2013 (Newswire.com) - When Lynette "Elle" Mayo, dancer/choreographer and owner of Dance Roots Etc., LLC was tasked with choreographing an Afro-Caribbean dance production for Herricks Dance Repertory in Long Island, NY, it was a pleasant surprise to later find that this production was included in the Afro Carib category in the app "Dance Vidz" on iTunes.
"While searching dance channels on YouTube, I noticed one of my videos, entitled Caribbean Blues, was a part of the playlist. I contacted the app developer and it was confirmed that Caribbean Blues was added as a featured video for Afro Caribbean dance moves. The app and video are free for all to enjoy.
Elle is greatly honored to have her work featured and is thankful to the Herricks Dance Repertory dancers and their adviser Vicki Gomez for making her dream, for the piece, into an amazing reality. "Afro Caribbean was a new style of dance for the dancers. The movements are complex, and often times infuses Afro Cuban and Haitian dance techniques. Having previously worked with the company on other dance projects, they understood my teaching style and executed the moves to perfection. Vicki Gomez was always supportive of my choreography and vision."
