Chopped Strand Mat Specialist Announces Expansion of Product Line
Online, August 6, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Chang Yuan Shun Co. Ltd. is nearing completion of its three new additions to the chopped strand mat product line. In August 2014, the company will have a total of five production lines in operation from the new additions.
“Our new production lines will be [finished] installing this month,” the company said in an announcement. “Then our chopped strand mat production lines increase from 2 to 5 product lines, where one mat line will specially produce the mat under 150g, and the other four lines will produce the mat from 200g to 900g.”
The new expansion will allow the CYS’ production capacity for CSMs to increase from 10,000 to 40,000 metric tons per year.
The chopped strand mat (CSM), also called fiberglass mat, is a non-woven glass fiber reinforcing material developed using uniformly chopped strands of certain length combined with polyester binder in powder or in emulsion form. CYS specializes in e-glass chopped strand mats weighing anywhere between 300g/m2 to 900g and with widths between 102cm and 320cm.
CSMs are suitable for application by hand lay-up and are ideal for reinforcing and machine FRP molding, such as for interiors of vehicles, boat hulls, sanitary ware, anticorrosive pipes, tanks, building materials, tables, chairs and all kinds of composite FRP products.
Chopped strand mats are normally 300g and 450g, but CYS also customizes CSM production based on client requirements. Both emulsion and powder mats range from 100g to 900g per square meter. The Chengdu-based factory produces in excess of 12,000 tons of CSMs a year.
Aside from manufacturing CSMs in large capacities, CYS also offers fiber glass roving, woven roving, and glass marble. Since 2006, the ISO9001-2008 for export over 30 countries including Australia, Korea, Thailand, India, USA, Germany, Russia, UK, France, Spain and Italy.
