Chef Sémone Hopkins Finds Success After Winning 2021 Favorite Chef™ Competition

Two rapidly growing small businesses - Sémone's Sweets and Mone's Mesa - are just the beginning

Chef Sémone Hopkins, an Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV) alumna, took the 2021 Favorite Chef title after competing against more than 25,000 competitors worldwide. Not only was she treated to a $50,000 cash prize and featured in a Bon Appétit advertorial spread, but she was given the opportunity to showcase her skills in front of Iron Chef America winner celebrity chef Beau MacMillan at a private event in Paradise Valley, AZ.

What is exciting about winning a culinary competition like Fav Chef is "the exposure I have received. I have gotten so much press attention, have been featured in newspapers, and have been interviewed on popular podcasts. You might see me on-screen in the near future, but that is all I can say," she said.

The Favorite Chef Competition is also thrilled to announce that Chef Hopkins is rapidly growing two small businesses — Sémone's Sweets and Mone's Mesa — proving that hard work, talent, and drive can bring great success. Hopkins is a passionate sweet and savory cook who specializes in baking and cake decorating but has chops in all areas of cooking.

Favorite Chef is an online voting competition exclusively designed with cooks, chefs, and culinary creatives in mind. The 2021 Competition was hosted by the legendary Chef Eddie Matney, a beloved Phoenix, AZ, restaurateur who is often recognized for his colorful personality. Favorite Chef, LLC donated over $1.1M from the Competition to Feeding America®, making an estimated 11.5 million meals available to communities in need during the pandemic.
