Check Point Abra Gives Us A Readily Accessible And Secure Virtual Workspace
Online, March 25, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Check Point has announced a new solution------Check Point Abra, a little portable USB disk which turns any PC into a fully secure corporate desktop. Users can have access to company emails, files or applications anytime and anywhere through integrated virtual private network (VPN). This plug-and-play device enables users to easily launch a virtual workspace on any PC without worrying about leak of information and without the weight of bulky laptops or work files.
Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., an Israeli network security company, is the only vendor to deliver Total Security for networks, data, and endpoints, unified under a single management framework.
Developed in cooperation with SanDisk, an American multinational corporation that designs and manufactures flash memory card products, Check Point Abra combines proven Check Point virtualization, VPN and security technologies with an encrypted SanDisk high performance USB drive to create a secure, virtual workspace.
Thus, the device utilizes several measures to protect data stored on Abra. Firstly, virtualization technology segregates Abra work session from host PC, preventing data loss. Secondly, encryption protects data at rest and when in use. Finally, Program Control protects corporate network from malware by regulating the types of applications used by Abra.
Key benefits of Abra:
1. Convenient:
Instead of taking a host of work files or a bulky laptop, users merely need to plug this little disk into any PC to work with integrated VPN connectivity.
2. Secure:
By combining Check Point virtualization, VPN and security technologies with encrypted SanDisk high performance drive, it segregates data from the host PC and protects data and information.
"Abra can change the way people work remotely. It's a new simple way for secure mobility," said Gil Shwed, chairman and chief executive officer at Check Point. "Abra is like no other tool, not only combining virtualization, VPN and strong data security into a single ultra-portable device, but doing it in an easy to use cost effective manner. With Abra, people will be able to work remotely and securely without the need to carry expensive, heavy laptops."
The device will be available in 31, March through the Check Point retail channel.
