Chaske Spencer Set To Air PSA At Red Is Green Gala

Red Nation Film Festival Best Actor Winner Chaske Spencer, star of Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse, will air special PSA at the Red is Green Carpet Gale & Pre-Oscar Film Festival Screening

Los Angeles, CA (March 4, 2010)- Tonight, March 4th, Chaske Spencer, star of The Twilight Saga film series: New Moon and Eclipse will air his star-studded PSA campaign at the Red is Green Carpet Gale & Pre-Oscar Film Festival Screening, benefiting the snowstorm disaster victims from South Dakota's Lakota Sioux tribe. Red Nation Film Festival will put on the gala, which is L.A.'s most prestigious American Indian Independent Film Festival. Spencer won the Best Actor Award for his role in New Moon at last year's 6th Annual Film Festival.

Spencer, who is a Native American from the Lakota Sioux tribe in Idaho and Montana was compelled to help after hearing of the disaster. In less than a day, Spencer produced a PSA through his production company Urband Dreams Production, enlisting the assistance of his celebrity friends to raise awareness and support to those who have been without power and water for weeks. The PSA urged individuals to "shift the power to the people" and help to empower everyone to create sustainable, lasting change in their communities and countries. Celebrity volunteers including Alex Meraz, Gil Birmingham, Boo Boo Stewart, Julia Jones, and Justin Chon.

Since the PSA has gone live on February 23rd over 2,500 letters have gone to Capitol Hill from people going to http://shiftthepowertothepeople.squarespace.com.

Chaske Spencer plays werewolf leader "Sam Uley" in the popular Summit Entertainment The Twilight Saga film series: New Moon and Eclipse.
