Chandlee & Sons Construction Has a New Home

The staff members of the Chandlee companies recently relocated themselves, office equipment, furniture and inventory to 8181 Industrial Place in the Forsyth County portion of Alpharetta, Georgia. Suite A is now the new home of Chandlee and Sons Construction Company, Chandlee Electric which was formed in January, and Chandlee Electric Home and Office Technology which was newly formed on June 14. Chandlee Rental, a non-public company also under the Chandlee Holding umbrella, is also located here.

New Chandlee Offices

With the move in progress, Seth Chandlee, (CEO, founder, and managing partner of Chandlee and Sons Construction), began an intensive remodel of the exterior and interior spaces. The exterior of the building received the Chandlee blue on the upper facade, a new flag pole to display the logos of the Chandlee companies, and decals of the logos applied to the glass at the front entry. A new fence was also installed around the perimeter of the property. The same blue color that is part of the Chandlee logo is found throughout the interior spaces along with the use of a lot of natural wood surfaces. Collectables and antiques are displayed in almost every room. Wood floors from Checkley Flooring, a small family owned company, were installed in the high traffic areas.

Upon entering the building a light-filled conference room is to the left. The room contains a beautiful wood table and chairs and has floor to ceiling windows that face the front lot. Across the lobby is the front desk and office of Cole Arnold, the company’s Office Manager. An “L’ shaped hallway to the left of the reception window leads to the restroom and an employee break room. To the right of the reception window is a short hallway with a wall of glass on the right - this is the office of the Chief Financial Officer, Todd McDougald

Seth Chandlee remarked on July 25, "One man's vision, two attempted auction battles, three trucking companies, a helpful military liaison, four months at two locations while under repair and today is The Day! Meet Mr. FLU419 Unimog. The mechanic told me, 'Seth, this is no joke - there must be safety training for the employees'. The staff was instructed right after the Tuesday Morning Staff Meeting. This machine is borderline CDL territory with massive amounts of capabilities and a lot for the staff to learn."

Seth Chandlee, CEO, Founding and Managing Partner

Behind these offices is a long hallway that runs from one side of the building to the other side with the break room at the end on the left. Along this hallway are the offices of the elder founding partner, Jim Chandlee; the Project Administrator, Lindsey Kitchens; the Estimator, Jon Ragsdale; and the Assistant to the CEO, Holly Isserstedt. The Chandlee Electric offices are found at the right end of the hallway. Behind the Chandlee Electric door are the offices of the President, Oriel Samuel, and the Manager, Andy Cook. In June of this year Mr. Samuel’s company, Home and Office Technology, merged under Chandlee Electric, thereby greatly expanding the services provided by Chandlee Electric through the addition of information technology systems.

The classically remodeled space continues through the office equipment room and opens into a wide ‘L’ shaped hallway. On the right is an expanse of glass from floor to ceiling that runs the length of the entire room - inside is the company’s large conference room where monthly planning and strategy meetings are held. Featured along the back wall is a very large mural of the researched history of businesses and accomplishments of Chandlee family members going back several generations.

Across from the entrance to the conference room is a short hall that leads to the office of the Chief Executive Officer, managing and founding partner, Seth Chandlee. On the walls and along the floor of the hallway are items from the life of another Chandlee son, Joshua Daniel Chandlee, who left this world behind on March 20 of this year. He is the elder brother of Seth Chandlee and Richard Chandlee, who works for Chandlee Electric. The CEO’s office is filled with interesting artifacts, antiques and more family history.

Moving towards the back of the building past the conference room is a smaller and more intimate meeting room on the right and the door that leads into the warehouse.

The paved lot behind the building is quite large with a military issue temporary work shelter erected currently protecting two projects that belonged to Joshua - his street legal dune buggy and all the pieces to a 60’s International pickup truck. With the cab already secured to the frame the crew recently attached the bed to the frame. These vehicles where shipped from Torrance, California along with his personal belongings in a large orange shipping container. The container now houses 1000’s of board feet of cypress retrieved from a river in Florida - the wood is now being repurposed into beautiful furniture pieces. There is also a 60‘s Toyota FJ that Joshua left with Seth when he moved to California four years ago. Seth has since fully restored it. Both company vehicles and employee vehicles are parked in this lot. Seth recently commented, “The lot is already too small as several fender benders have already occurred”. And the lot just received a new tenant, a Unimog FLU419 fresh from a full restoration.

With business growing for Chandlee and Sons Construction and the expansion of the Chandlee Holding companies through Chandlee Electric and the new Chandlee Electric Home and Office Technology, the office spaces are completely filled. There are plans now on the book to build a custom designed office for all the companies within three years.
