Certified Master Chef Daryl Shular Launches His Georgia-Based Daryl Shular Hospitality Group

Daryl Shular Hospitality Group (DSHG) will launch four brands this year: The SHULAR Institute, FarmED Kitchen and Bar, PlateED and Earth First Catering and Events (EFC). These concepts are the results of the pioneering spirit of Chef Shular’s many years at the forefront of the hospitality and culinary education industry. The mission at DSHG will be to provide the best in modern eateries and hospitality education in Dekalb County and the Southeast.

Chef Shular teams up with partner Sean M. Rush, owner, former Senior Marketing Executive of Le Cordon Bleu North America for over 12 years. Both believe that the core of a successful food service operation is a more educated and business savvy workforce driving the standards needed for continued success on the national stage. The SHULAR Institute will be a restaurant-based culinary education offering located at the new PREP facility in Tucker, GA. The Institute is set to open doors to students in the Winter of 2021. The institute will offer diploma and certificate programs ranging from Workforce development to Advanced diplomas. 

Decide DeKalb Development Authority, the county's economic development arm, was extremely helpful in bringing the project to life. DSHG will continue to share its expertise with all levels of food lovers through PlateED, their online enthusiast program offering. These virtual and hands-on cooking classes are designed to place the consumer in the heart of the operation, to feel the experience of being a member of the Kitchen Brigade. Also, Chef Shular has built his career on the principles of healthy cooking, sustainability, and supporting local food suppliers. Starting this month, EFC will offer private catering and event planning for the Dekalb County area and more. EFC will service the growing film and business industry in DeKalb and give students a revenue opportunity with real-world hospitality experience working under professional chefs. EFC is a high-end, conscious-first catering company committed to providing clientele with a custom experience centered around seasonality and modern food styles. 

John McHenry, the City of Tucker’s Community and Economic Development Director, is excited about PREP Atlanta and the Shular Institute’s arrival in Tucker. “The Shular Institute is a great addition with its hospitality classes and high caliber training, not to mention a new restaurant – conveniently located near the new City Hall at Lakeside Centre.”
