Celebrity Chef Brother Luck, Butcher Jason Nauert Partner With United States Army to Offer Culinary Internships to Soldiers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., September 5, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Chef Brother Luck of Four by Brother Luck and butcher Jason Nauert of Rocky Mountain Institute of Meat are carving out a new exciting opportunity for US Army soldiers. Partnering with the United States Army’s 10th Special Forces Airborne Group, Chef Luck recently graduated his second group of Army Culinary Specialists from a 45-day, full-scale internship program at his Colorado Springs restaurant Four By Luck. The program consists of each Culinary Specialist rotating training through all positions of the restaurant: serving, bartending, catering, hosting, and cooking. Additionally, Jason Nauert will be taking the soldiers into the field for his Austere Field Butchering & Cooking Course - teaching the soldiers how to butcher and prepare animals in the wild. Jason has been offering this course to the Army Special Forces for 5 years and is very much looking forward to pairing his course with the internship at Four By Brother Luck. The program began in the last week of April, and Chef Luck has been personally involved in the program’s progression and success.

The purpose of the program is to better educate the Army Culinary Specialists position with actual industry experience in a high caliber restaurant. Culinary Specialists will also be amplifying their own menus within their respective divisions while on post and elevating the current Army culinary program for on post dining. At the end of the training, the soldiers will prepare a chef’s table for their commanding officers to showcase their newly enhanced skill sets.

Colorado Springs is surrounded by military and it's truly the heartbeat of our city. This program could far extend beyond my restaurant. My younger brother was an Army Culinary Specialist so it's very personal to create this opportunity for our soldiers.

Jason has called Colorado his home for 42 years. He has hunted wild game animals for most of his life, and with hunting came butchering. Having aligned himself with the ACF in 2013, he was sought out by the Army with interest in developing an Austere Field Butchering & Cooking Course for healthier eating while deployed, and career advancement back home. About 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), U.S. Army

The 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) (10th SFG(A) or 10th Group) is an active duty United States Army Special Forces (SF) Group. The 10th SFG(A) was constituted 19 May 1952 and activated on 11 June 1952, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The group was split in 1953, with one half being sent to Germany, while the other half remained at Fort Bragg. In 1968, the majority of the unit transferred to Fort Devens, Massachusetts, with the exception of 1st Battalion, which remained in Germany. Between 1994 and 1995, 10th SFG(A) moved to Fort Carson, Colorado, which remains its current home.
