CEE Receives Technology Grant from the Microsoft Store at the Grand Opening Celebration in Tysons Corner, Virginia
Online, December 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - McLean, VA - The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is pleased to announce that it received a $250,000 software grant donation in celebration of the Microsoft Store Grand Opening on November 17th at Tyson's Corner Center. Mr. Mel Chaskin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Center for Excellence in Education, received the generous donation at the Microsoft Store. Microsoft's gift supports the needs of its local community.
"CEE is thrilled to be one of the four organizations chosen by the Microsoft Store for the donation," stated Joann DiGennaro, President of the Center for Excellence in Education. "It was wonderful to receive the support through votes from the Center's alumni, donors, and friends that helped CEE to reach the ultimate $250,000 goal."
The Center will use this donation to assist its programs to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The Research Science Institute (RSI), the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), and the National Lab Skills Initiative (NLSI) are the Center's flagship opportunities for students and teachers.
