Cascade Face Shield for Medical Professionals

LIVERPOOL, N.Y., March 26, 2020 (Newswire.com) - ​Today, Cascade Lacrosse is currently in production of face shields for health providers and medical professionals across the country in need of additional supplies.    

The pivot in business comes in the wake of last week’s mandatory shutdown of non-essential businesses in New York, which closed the Cascade helmet factory. The effects of the coronavirus have employees working from home to stay safe and healthy but has left those who fill the production floor temporarily out of work.

While most of New York was asked to work from home and Cascade’s factory doors closed, it was only a matter of hours before the team’s curiosity, ingenuity and passion to be a part of the solution kicked in, answering the bell on a medical supply shortage in a time of crisis. “Whatever we can do to keep people safe and help bring the country back to a state of normality is what we plan to do today and through the immediate future,” he says. “Thankfully, we have the resources, vendors, and facilities to contribute on a national scale, but most importantly, we have the
right people.”

Repurposing Cascade talents, resources and suppliers took place in under 72 hours. Leading the charge is Sr. Director of R&D Win Fream and Plant Manager Dave Christopher, working in lockstep on the multi-disciplined effort, aligning design, material and production teams. A weekend prototype evolved rapidly to a final production model earlier this week. The initial forecast for face shields is in the tens of thousands per week.
