Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) Partner Byron Shinn is Appointed to the AICPA Tax Practice and Procedures Committee (TPPC)
BRADENTON, Fla., October 24, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Byron Shinn, the partner-in-charge of CRI’s Bradenton and Sarasota offices, has recently been appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Tax Practice and Procedures Committee (TPPC) for the 2019-2020 volunteer service year.
The TPPC monitors developments in and changes to IRS procedural and administrative guidance and keeps members informed of changes to tax procedure, tax administration, regulatory guidance, and IRS services. The committee also develops guidance, information, and resources for the AICPA and Tax Section members to help them understand and comply with the complex rules of practice before the IRS.
Byron is heavily involved in his local community. He is Chairman of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus and sits on the Boards of Trustees for the University of South Florida System. He also recently testified before the Committee on Ways and Means, the chief tax-writing committee of the United States House of Representatives, regarding IRS oversight issues. Byron was also recently appointed to the Florida Cybersecurity Task Force.
