Online, April 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Carrentals.co.uk, the award-winning car hire website, has warned people travelling to the UK for this summer's Olympics to book car hire early as demand for rental vehicles surges. The website has see a spike in advance bookings with less than 100 days to go until the Games.
The new numbers from Carrentals.co.uk reveal that four times the people have booked rental cars between 20 July and 12 August this year compared with same period in 2011. 40% of bookings have been made for collection at Gatwick and Heathrow airports as people look to get into London as quickly and conveniently as possible.
The majority of people have booked their cars for July 20 and 21 ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony on July 27th. Carrentals.co.uk says that the average duration of bookings is 10 to 12 days and that 50% of advance bookings made include pickups at Gatwick and Heathrow.
