Canine Massage Chicago Opens Doors, Communication
Chicagoland business owner and canine massage therapist offers free Ask the Trainer nights to educate public on benefits of touch, massage and training for dogs.
Chicago Massage Chicago held its first-ever Ask the Trainer night on July 11, 2012 just two weeks after its grand opening at two locations, one in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood and the other in Oak Park.
"We've never had so many legs walk through our door!" said Denise Theobald, owner and canine massage therapist. "We had many two-legged pet parents who brought along their four-legged friends. We're appreciative of the support and were able to teach our attendees techniques to aid in the physical and psychological health of their best friends.
"I want to educate the public that the same benefits that touch has on humans can be seen in canines. Our demos are free, although we do accept a $5 donation for rescue organization Be Fido's Friend, and go a long way in helping people become active participants in their dog's health care. And we have a expert behavior trainer on site during our Ask The Trainer sessions to also answer basic obedience questions"
Theobald spoke of these benefits on a recent appearance on ABC 7 News, which can be seen here: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/video?id=8716563#.T-tP0SvsNqI.facebook.
"We also offer Pet Parent massage classes that are an in-depth take on canine massage with hands on techniques that can be used safely at home. We also have specialty classes that focus on sports massage, massage for the senior dog, and massage for the anxious and shy dog," said Theobald, "Canine Massage Chicago also provides behavior training and holistic veterinary services."
Canine Massage Chicago also educates pet lovers who want to help pets professionally.
"I am a graduate of her 200-hour extensive program, and I have learned immensely the importance of pet massage," said student Gemma Piscotti. "From assisting with rehabilitation to making pets more mobile and avoiding injury, it's amazing what the power of massage can do."
