California Based Urban Beauty Network to Launch Spring 2016

Women of color have a new tool for ultimate decisions in beauty and wellness

Women and beauty are inseparable concepts. Women of color and beauty take the concept a step further. From infinite skin tones to hair that ranges from straight to tightly coiled, their myriad of beauty needs are the center of much discussion everywhere from magazines and online forums to beauty salons and spa lobbies. Entrepreneur and beauty professional Rita Owens knows these challenges all too well. As a former corporate professional, her travels took her to destinations around the country where her favorite stylists, estheticians, makeup artists and nail techs were well out of reach. Frustrated by the thought of blindly choosing another beauty professional, Owens decided to couple her two loves of technology and beauty to launch Urban Beauty Network- the ultimate beauty solution.

An online and mobile concierge service, UrbanBeautyNetwork.com offers a consumer facing solution for women of color who are no longer satisfied with bad referrals, overbooked stylists and non-vetted beauty professionals. A combination of sites like StyleSeat and Glamsquad with a distinct focus on women of color, the portal allows users to filter and search beauty professionals in their area and book appointments for services online. This on-demand feature opens the floodgates of beauty for women of color whether booking an appointment in salon or requesting an on-site home or office visit. Its blog site offers an editorial look into new and exciting beauty products and the professionals who use them. For beauty professionals, UrbanBeautyNetwork.com offers a one stop online marketing space where, after a thorough vetting process, they can position themselves among other elite beauty professionals around the country opening them up to a larger customer base.  The enhanced platform allows users to seamlessly utilize its service on smart phones and mobile devises.

“Because we believe that beauty and wellness services transform the lives of women, Urban Beauty Network promises a one of a kind experience that will help consumers to fulfil their most pressing beauty needs. When we look good, we feel good. When we feel good, we thrive. It is the goal of Urban Beauty Network to see women of color and the beauty businesses that serve them thrive in their communities and beyond. “notes Rita Owens, founder of Urban Beauty Network.

Urban Beauty Network is currently accepting consumer “GLAMbassadors” to contribute to the growing blog as well as beauty and wellness professionals to add to their growing family of vetted professionals.
