Caeliel Presented Fall Fashion Collection in New York City

Caeliel presented her second contemporary line collection this fashion week in New York City

Caeliel by Claire Burroughs Perez presented her Fall 2010 Collection this fashion week at a private hotel location in New York City. The intimate group of attendees enjoyed watching lines of models in chic contemporary and well styled designs inspired by women loves to travel. "It's New York City meets European Villages, this is for a woman who loves to travel, my dresses are versatile, you can wear anywhere, anytime type" She said. Just like most of the runways in New York Fashion Week her colors are more matured, very fall, and neutral. There were a lot of taupe and black and grays. Playing safe in this economy is a must indeed.

The designer started out as an evening and bridal gown designer and branched out to make contemporary clothing. This is her second season doing contemporary line, and it looks a bit different from her spring collection where she had a lot of beads, shiny silks and puff colors. " It's a fun challenge for me to make casual clothing because I'm used to making only fairy-tale like ball gowns with lots of shiny things. With this line I'm trying to be creative with wools and georgettes and try so hard not to use shiny silks, and always think "wearable". I believe in art and couture and in the past it doesn't matter to me if my designs are wearable or not, I'll make it and keep it in my collection. It's an art, just like paintings on your wall. This economy also helps make me a better and more creative designer and business woman." She said.

The designs includes black and gold printed dress with low v cut that can be worn either in the front or back, belted or without belt, it's one size fits all dress that is really practical these days. I love the wood silk print mini dress with draped skirt and one shoulder. The taupe cashmere dress with red silk details and buttons at the back is a personal favorite, that also comes in black and red with slightly different detail. She had a taupe skirt with asymmetrical flap and red lining matched with a printed cream, gray and black blouse. She also presented lots of plain blacks and gray dresses with a touch or red and yellows in different cuts and small details. Overall I think the collection is a little safe and matured for a girl in her twenties and I saw a lot of pieces I can wear. I think she is still trying to find her balance between contemporary casual and couture though the designs are impressive.
