BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers To Perform At The Basilica Of St. Mary

Collegiate Singers will perform at The Basilica of Saint Mary, 88 17th Street North, Minneapolis, MN on Saturday, April 16, at 8:00 PM.

Brigham Young University-Idaho's Collegiate Singers will be performing at The Basilica of Saint Mary, 88 17th Street North, Minneapolis on Saturday, April 16, at 8:00 PM. This performance is part of the Collegiate Singers 2011 Tour Concert, The Spark of Creation, a two-week tour that began April 10. On this tour, the group is scheduled to perform in Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, and Nebraska. The Spark of Creation expresses a wide range of emotions and musical styles sure to identify with crowds of varied ages and backgrounds.

The group is directed by Dr. Randall Kempton and represents some of the finest singers and musicians at BYU-Idaho. Selected by audition, each member of the group brings experience and enthusiasm to the stage as he or she participates in concerts of depth and variety.

Since 2009, Collegiate Singers have toured Alaska, provided the Opera Chorus for BYU-Idaho's production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, and performed in productions of the Durufle Requiem and Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem. The group also appeared on Music and the Spoken Word as a featured guest artist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
