BrushyBall®: The First Ever Toothbrushing Coach for Kids
Online, February 6, 2015 (Newswire.com) - BrushyBall is the first ever personal toothbrushing coach for kids. Sparkling white teeth light up in a glowing sequence as BrushyBall speaks to guide young brushers through a follow-the-leader brushing session. Designed to sit conveniently on the bathroom sink and also holds up to 4 toothbrushes, BrushyBall captivates short attention spans while teaching children a complete brushing routine, according to Rob Malen, BrushyBall inventor.
What do you do when your four year old daughter refuses to brush her teeth properly? “I knew that teaching her to brush proper areas of the mouth for the required two minutes could become a monumental task,” notes Malen. “I had to make the teaching easier, and thought that a personal coach might do the job,” he adds. “So, after years of development, I invented BrushyBall, the first ever toothbrushing coach for kids.”
“Hi brushing buddy. Ready to brush?” asks BrushyBall. “My teeth light up to show you where to brush. Just follow me,” coaches BrushyBall. Kids simply have to listen to BrushyBall as he motivates them to “Brush the bottom teeth. You’re doing a great job!”
BrushyBall provides follow-the-leader, interactive fun while coaching youngsters with “You’re doing a great job brushing buddies.” The battery operated tech training toy holds up to four brushes and is activated by pushing his nose. “Look at those pearly whites. Great job! See you next time,” encourages BrushyBall.
Existing products currently in the marketplace fail to optimize both visual and audible cues. Their communication is typically an instrumental song while the visual communication is simply one flashing light. This is not optimal communication for users aged 3 to 8 years old, according to Malen.
BrushyBall has launched a Kickstarter campaign in conjunction with National Children's Dental Health Month, which is sponsored by the American Dental Association in February. Young kids’ tooth decay has hit epidemic proportions with 42 percent of children ages 2—11 having had cavities in their baby teeth, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
In addition, BrushyBall is committed to contributing generously to Operation Smile, which helps correct facial deformities, such as cleft palates, in children worldwide.
