Boot Campers Prepare For Battle to Attack Back-to-School Anxiety
Online, July 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - PEORIA, AZ - July 26, 2010 - Northwest Valley Adventure Boot Camp is collecting backpacks to help ease the back-to-school anxiety experienced by so many parents. Adventure Boot Camp is teaming up with the Peoria Unified School District. There are over 300 families that are considered homeless, and could use the communities' contribution.
Lisa Olona, owner and instructor of Northwest Valley Adventure Boot Camp, feels passionately about reaching out and helping these parents. "I grew up with a single mom who did her best to provide us with necessities, such as back-to-school supplies. She slept on the couch to allow my brother, sister, and I to have a bed in our 2 bedroom apartment. I understand what it's like, as a child, to watch my mom strive to provide us with the basics. It hurt me to see her struggle. I want to honor my mom, as well as those parents who are experiencing financial hardship. My heart goes out to those parents whose hearts are to provide the best for their children. We hope to relieve as much stress as possible, and we hope these backpacks will help."
Northwest Valley Adventure Boot Camp will be offering a boot camp class for those who donate a backpack. The class will be held this Saturday, July 31st at 7:00 A.M. at Paseo Verde Park. Paseo Verde Park is located in Peoria, on Greenway, just west of 75th Avenue. For those who do not wish to participate in the class, we appreciate donations between 6:45 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. on Saturday. We will continue to collect backpacks from now until August 9, 2010. For donations, contact Lisa at 602-518-6020 or Lisa@NorthwestValleyBootCamp.com.
