'Blue Pines' From Bobbye Taylor is the Culmination of 4 Generations of Mississippi History to Present a Fictional Piece About a Better Mississippi
MCCOMB, Miss., December 16, 2019 (Newswire.com) - A Mississippi native, author Bobbye Taylor had a lot of good people in her life who pushed her to always do more from an early age. Taking that inspiration, she went on to spend the next 40 years working as a teacher/administrator across the United States, hoping to push others to greater heights as well. She has written this book based on that experience of talking to so many people across so many generations and hopes to see a future for Mississippi where its past is no longer celebrated.
“Blue Pines” follows a woman named Kjelli, who has lived most of her life in the state of Mississippi. Growing up on the stories of her grandparents, her story is the story of Mississippi from some of its worst times through today. Through different economic climates and societal issues, the one persistent thread is the racism surviving through to today. Kjelli’s story is one about how the state was, where it is, and how there can still be a better tomorrow.
Readers interested in this glimpse of Mississippi history can purchase “Blue Pines” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
