About Big Sunday
Since 1999, Big Sunday has transformed from a Los Angeles-based project of 300 volunteers to a broad-based community service and community-building initiative engaging tens of thousands of volunteers from all walks of life who come together for diverse projects spanning from California’s Bay Area to San Diego and beyond every year. Community service projects provided to the public by Big Sunday meet the passion, talent, skill and age of all willing volunteers. Big Sunday is an entirely non-denominational, apolitical nonprofit agency, and despite its massive size and scope, Big Sunday Weekend projects are run predominantly by volunteers during Big Sunday’s signature event. There is no charge to participate in Big Sunday events and the Big Sunday Weekend often serves as a catalyst for good works throughout the year. Big Sunday now offers all kinds of ways to help online, too.
