Bidi Vapor Receives U.S. Federal Registrations for E-Cigarette Trademarks

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registers trademarks for popular Bidi® Stick vape pen

Bidi Vapor, LLC, maker of the popular vape pen, Bidi® Stick, announced that the BIDI® word mark and design mark have been registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in an effort to protect the company’s trademark rights and battle counterfeit use of its brand name and products.

“The infringing use of the Bidi® trademarks has been a problem in the United States,” said Niraj Patel, president and CEO of Bidi Vapor, LLC. “We have seen counterfeit Bidi® Sticks flood the market, with unauthorized sellers using our trademarks to profit illegally from our reputation for providing a quality, premium e-cigarette. Accordingly, we have initiated a program to combat this problem and the registrations will help us achieve our goals of a counterfeit-free marketplace.”

Federal registration with the USPTO confers upon Bidi Vapor the legal presumption of ownership nationwide of the Bidi® trademarks, the exclusive right to use the marks on or in connection with the goods and/or services listed in the registrations and the ability to pursue legal recourse against other companies using its intellectual property without permission, officials said.

In its attempt to offer adults 21 and older alternatives to combustible tobacco products, Bidi Vapor has produced a “premium” disposable electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) device that has medical-grade components, UL 8139 certified batteries and a mouthpiece design and other structural components to provide a consistent vaping experience, officials with the Melbourne, Fla.-based company said.

In November, the company announced the introduction of a BidiPouch, a smokeless, tobacco-free, nicotine-delivery system. Engineered to provide a premium nicotine experience to its users, minus the smoke, it is made from a tobacco-free nicotine formulation in a modern oral delivery form.

“Our mission is to offer adult smokers options to traditional, combustible tobacco that will meet their nicotine-delivery needs,” Patel said. “With the proper age-verification restrictions in place, we can meet the needs of the adult smoker while deterring underage use.”

At the retail level, Bidi Vapor requires retailers sign a Retail Pledge and make other commitments related to age-restricted sales, designed to affirm compliance to age-verification policies that the company itself abides by.
