Belgard Partners With Tunnel to Towers Foundation to Outfit Service Member Homes With Custom Outdoor Spaces

Outdoor Living Company to Create Outdoor Living Spaces at Smart Homes for Service Members

Belgard, the leader in outdoor living essentials for the patio and beyond, announces its partnership with The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to provide specially-adapted smart homes for the nation’s first responders and service members. Belgard, and its parent company Oldcastle APG, will construct professionally-designed outdoor living spaces and patios as an added element to the new smart homes, through both product donation and installation support.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for all of our employees to be involved in something that goes well beyond our normal day-to-day activities,” says Damie Lumsden, Consumer Marketing Manager, Belgard. “These individuals have endured incredible hardship in service of our country and this is our opportunity to give something back and provide them with a functional and beautiful patio that they might not otherwise have been able to enjoy. Our contribution cannot be compared to their sacrifice, but it will provide these service men and women easier access to the outdoors and an enhanced outdoor living experience with their loved ones in their new home.”

The Siller Family created the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001. The goal of the Foundation is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially-adapted smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members.

“We are incredibly grateful for Belgard’s commitment to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and our mission,” says Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. “These outdoor living spaces will be such a wonderful addition to the program’s homes as they will be able to spend time outdoors with their families and friends, enjoying this added element.”

Over the next 12 months, Belgard plans to design and install custom outdoor patios at more than 15 Tunnel to Towers homes. The outdoor patios will be designed by Belgard’s Design Studio, the 3D design service that provides detail renderings and a dynamic view of the project design.
