Balentine Named One of Atlanta's Best Places to Work

The Atlanta Business Chronicle named Balentine one of Atlanta's Best Places to Work in 2011.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle named Balentine one of Atlanta's Best Places to Work in 2011. Just 19 months old, Balentine, an independent, employee-owned investment management firm, has received numerous awards this year noting the firm's commitment to exceptional customer service, innovative investment strategy and now, employee growth and satisfaction.

"We are honored that the exceptional work we do for our clients has been so widely recognized this year, and we are particularly proud to receive The Atlanta Business Chronicle's Best Places to Work designation. Our unique combination of culture, kinship and camaraderie makes Balentine a rewarding place to work and encourages outstanding service to our clients, our colleagues and our community," said Robert Balentine, Chairman and CEO of Balentine. "We have built a strong team, and it makes us proud to create a workplace that encourages and supports the incredible work they do."

Robert Balentine and ten partners launched Balentine, LLC in January 2010. However, the firm's history begins much earlier with Balentine & Company, the legacy firm founded by Balentine and his father in 1987. At the time of Balentine & Company's acquisition by Wilmington Trust in 2002, it was the largest privately owned investment advisory firm in the southeast.

Balentine is on track to reach $1 billion in assets under management before its second anniversary. This fast-growing firm now has 25 employees, with offices serving clients along the eastern seaboard and throughout the United States. The Balentine team is comprised of three Ph.D.s, seven CFA® charter holders, the former director of research for the Shanghai Stock Exchange and three former chief investment officers of multi-billion dollar institutions. Of Balentine's current employees, nearly half are women and one quarter have lived or were educated outside of the United States.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle Best Places to Work award is based solely on company data and employee survey responses. To build a pool of nominees, the Atlanta Business Chronicle asked readers to nominate businesses in the metro area, then worked with Quantum Workplace to survey employees at nominated firms and used those results to rank Atlanta area employers. 482 organizations were nominated for this year's award.
