Balentine Announces 4th Annual Summer Reading List
Online, June 2, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Balentine, an independent, employee-owned investment advisory firm, announced its 2014 Summer Reading List today. This is the fourth consecutive year that Balentine has released a summer reading list. The 2014 list comprises 10 books recommended by Balentine employees.
"At Balentine we pride ourselves on having a diverse employee base, and once again, our summer reading list reflects this. From time-honored classics to current best-sellers, there is truly something for everyone," said Robert Balentine, Chairman and CEO of Balentine. He continued, "We hope our friends and clients enjoy these books as much as we have."
This year's list spans centuries and continents, including Les Indes Noires, French author Jules Verne's nineteenth century adventure novel and the current best-selling book, The Invention of Wings. While The Founders and Finance: How Hamilton, Gallatin, and Other Immigrants Forged a New Economy recounts the history of American finance, Michael Lewis's provocative book Flash Boys introduces readers to the modern day and controversial phenomenon known as high frequency trading.
Balentine will share recommendations throughout the summer on the Balentine Facebook page and via the Balentine Summer Reading Pinterest boards. You can also join in the conversation by using #BalentineReads.
