Bad Wolf Technologies Releases the Neptune HD High Definition Recorder and Encoder
Online, August 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Designed specifically for UAV applications the Neptune HD is one of the smallest HD video recorders in the world! Accepting video from most HD LVDS Sony Block Cameras, the Neptune will encode, record, take stills, overlay data, and stream an NTSC/PAL output. Video, stills and data are recorded to an optional SD or MicroSD card. Compressed H.264 HD video can also stream via USB2.0 or Ethernet through an optional converter. A complete RS-232 API is available for easy integration and control.
The Neptune HD will revolutionize the UAV industry by allowing smaller payloads and thus, smaller airframes. At just 38x38mm the Neptune HD is small enough to integrate into existing gimbal systems. Such small size and weight allow UAV manufacturers to produce airframes small enough to be launched in the field.
Ground stations control the Neptune HD through basic, easy to use, commands with an easy to integrate RS-232 API. This allows for rapid development and complete control.
The Neptune HD streams with a 46ms latency allowing for information to be transmitted in near real time. Additional functionality such as rolling shutter correction, and image stabilization are being implemented and should be released by Q4 2012.
The Neptune HD can operate in temperatures from -40C to +85C. Its also resilient to shock and vibration, making it ideal for military applications.
The Neptune HD UAV Video Recorder is available for OEM applications and low to medium volume projects. Please contact us for more information and pricing.
