Axience strengthens its leadership, management and global reach with appointment of Dr. Ganesh Mani
Online, December 10, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Ganesh Mani, President of Global Innovation Center, Inc. in Pittsburgh has joined Axience as an advisor and liaison representative of Axience in the US. Axience is an India-based specialist business services firm providing investment research, business intelligence, financial modeling, analytic and desktop research services to the financial services industry, including buy-side and sell-side firms, other corporate institutions and consultancies.
Ganesh Mani joins the team when Axience is growing at a rapid pace and strengthening its brand as a global provider of research and analytics services. Dr. Mani currently heads Global Innovation Center, Inc. and is also on the adjunct Faculty of Carnegie Mellon University. Ganesh Mani is an accomplished expert and thought leader in the areas of financial services, including risk management and other topical asset management industry issues. One of his prior start-ups was acquired by State Street Bank, thereby creating the nucleus of State Street Global's Advanced Research Center, which was the knowledge-locus for managing institutional portfolios worth several tens of billions of dollars.
Ganesh has contributed to several other innovative start-ups including iCAD, which is now a NASDAQ-listed public company employing pattern recognition and other quantitative techniques for early cancer detection. Ganesh's work has been patented as well as featured in a Barron's cover story titled "New Brains on the Block" and in various academic journals; he has also spoken and organized panels at various international conferences. Ganesh earned an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has a BTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Ganesh is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Pittsburgh chapter and was an early member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance
