Avamere Leader Appointed to Nurse Advisory Council
WILSONVILLE, Ore., February 10, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The Avamere Family of Companies is pleased to announce and recognize a prestigious appointment awarded to one of its nurses.
The American Assisted Living Nurses Association elected Melissa Bruce, BSN, RN-BC, C-AL, Vice President of Community-Based Care Clinical Services at Avamere Living, to its Advisory Council in January 2021.
The council guides AALNA Board of Directors on new trends, technology, and educational needs in the assisted living industry. The association sought out Bruce in its search for industry leaders across the country.

This announcement is only one of the many notable achievements Bruce has attained in the last year. She also co-authored and published a peer-reviewed article on the importance of incontinence management as part of a COVID-19 infection control plan.
Today, Bruce also serves on the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living's Clinical Practice Committee. In 2019 and 2020, she served on the Gerontological Nursing Standard Setting Panel led by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Among her rich achievements in healthcare, she was also named Nurse Leader of the Year by the Oregon Health Care Association in 2019.
