Avamere at Sandy Resident Celebrates 103rd Birthday
Celebration included cake and visit from family and friends
SANDY, Ore., January 3, 2020 (Newswire.com) - December 2019 marked 103 years of life for one resident at Avamere at Sandy, an assisted living and memory care community in Sandy, Oregon.
Faye Nygard was born in Union, Iowa, on Dec. 5, 1916. She celebrated this great milestone at Avamere at Sandy with her family and close friends.
One of Nygard’s treasured hobbies was crocheting and sewing. She used to make gifts by crocheting dish cloths and tying two together in a ribbon to look like a pair of pants. She then attached a poem that read: “Don’t get excited or be misled. These are not for you, but your kitchen instead. Just untie the bow and pull out the stitches. Now you have dishrags, but you’ve lost your britches.”
Today at Avamere at Sandy, Nygard enjoys attending Sunday religious services.
