Authors Regina Tubbs and Mark Olver's New Book '46 Years' is a Riveting Story Told Primarily by Letters That Olver Wrote Through His Time in the Vietnam War.

Recent release '46 Years' from Newman Springs Publishing authors Regina Tubbs and Mark Olver is a compilation of the letters that Olver wrote in his time overseas in the Vietnam War.

Regina Tubbs, who completed the prestigious National Board Teacher Certification and won numerous teaching awards through the years, and Mark Olver, a Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, have completed their new book “46 Years”: a gripping, true story that is told in a unique and personal way.

“When I was drafted and left Damascus, Pennsylvania, for war in this far place, I began writing letters—subconsciously, I suppose—in order to create a tether, in a sense, to the real world as an escape back to family, to the reality I knew. Military life was never home; I missed home terribly. I began a story of sorts which, like many tales before mine, grew with each addition—in my case, each day’s additional letter home. Mom saved every letter, and these letters tell my story, day by day, week by week, until it all became a story,” said Olver.

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Regina Tubbs and Mark Olver’s authentic tale was never meant to be a book, but Olver’s mother held on to every letter he ever sent home while he was away. After 46 years since his arrival back in the U.S. – the author is ready to share the intimate collection with the public to paint a picture of what his life and the war were like.

These musings of a young man, away from everything he ever knew for years will astonish and allure readers. With each page the entire experience of a drafted nineteen to twenty-something man in the U.S. Army unravels.

Readers who wish to experience this potent work can purchase 46 Years” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
