Author Robert 'Bob' D. Patton's New Book 'Living Positive With Imperfection: A Memoir' is a Beautiful Portrait of One Man's Strength to Survive All of Life's Trials

Recent release "Living Positive with Imperfection: A Memoir" from Newman Springs Publishing author Robert "Bob" D. Patton is a stirring memoir that explores the losses and disappointments faced by the author throughout his life. Despite each setback, Patton reveals how he never let these obstacles keep him down, always drawing on his inner strength to forge ahead no matter the odds.

Robert "Bob" D. Patton, who has served his community as a county commissioner and was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives. He has both taught and chaired the Department of Health Education for East Tennessee State University and has completed his new book "Living Positive with Imperfection: A Memoir": an insightful memoir detailing the author's experiences in facing defeat and still managing to get back up again and face challenges head-on.

"I did not think a lot about family history when I was young," writes Patton. "As I grew older, I became more interested in my past and the experiences and people who helped mold me into the person I am. I have also come to see the importance of the environment I experienced and how it has contributed to my life. Some of it was negative and some positive; however, you can't change it. I want my children and grandchildren to know more about me; in doing so, they will know more about themselves.

"There have been many times I have wished I could ask my deceased parents about people and places. Since I cannot do that, I thought it important to leave a written record of some of my history for my family and friends. With that in mind, I have tried to record the things I remember about relatives and friends and how they were involved at various stages of my life. I thought it important that I express some of the attitudes and the feelings I have about people, places, and things. My children are old enough to appreciate what I have recorded. The grandchildren may have an interest in forty or fifty years. If any of the family gets interested in their heritage, they will appreciate my efforts. Perhaps this will inspire other individuals to have an interest in leaving a history for their family and friends."
